Susannah Ortiz

Susannah Ortiz, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker based in Houston, Texas, with a deep commitment to helping others heal and grow. She currently serves as a Clinical Assessment Specialist at The Menninger Clinic, where she supports individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges through comprehensive assessments, crisis management, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure compassionate and effective care.
Her clinical experience includes impactful roles at the Hope and Healing Center & Institute and Jewish Family Service Houston. In these settings, Susannah has facilitated support groups, provided individual therapy, and worked closely with trauma survivors. Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), always guided by empathy, curiosity, and a belief in each person’s inherent resilience.

Before transitioning into the field of social work, Susannah managed the administrative operations of her family’s business. This experience honed her skills in organization, financial management, and adaptability skills she now brings to her clinical work.

Outside of her professional life, Susannah is passionate about music and enjoys attending live concerts for the energy and connection they provide. She also finds joy in traveling, exploring new cultures, and discovering hidden gem restaurants. These personal experiences continually renew her sense of connection to the richness of human stories stories that fuel her passion for social work.
