Kelly is a proud graduate from the University of Houston, where she obtained her Master of Social Work Degree with a Clinical Concentration and Health and Behavioral Health Specialization. During her time at The University of Houston’s Master of Social Work program, Kelly was selected to be a part of the Trauma Education Fellowship and the Global Leaders in Behavioral Health Education program, which sparked her passion for trauma-informed practice. Kelly previously interned at an HISD middle school and at the Trauma and Grief Center, which solidified her interest in working with children and adolescents that have experienced hardships.
Kelly’s professional experience includes working for local school districts and as a telehealth therapist. She joined ATC in October 2023 because she wholeheartedly believes in ATC’s mission of building connections and strengthening relationships. Kelly believes in the importance of providing a safe space for clients. She meets her clients where they are, and she approaches each client with empathy, compassion, and curiosity. Her goal is to create an environment where clients feel heard, valued, and supported.
While Kelly enjoys working with all ages, Kelly specializes in working with children and adolescents. Her interests include working with those who have experienced trauma or grief and are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, or depression as a result. She believes in creating a collaborative relationship with parents to meet the needs of the child and family as a whole. She integrates treatments rooted in science with a personalized and empathetic touch. She recognizes that each client’s experiences are different, and that clients are the true experts on their own lives. Her style is to work hand in hand with the client to give them the tools needed to grow into and live as their true authentic self.
When Kelly is not working at ATC, she is spending time with her pets, doing puzzles, or creating crafts. She enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and attending baseball games. She understands the importance of expressing oneself, and her ultimate mission is to help her clients heal and let their true self shine through.
