Brent Stoller

Brent utilizes individually tailored, evidence-based interventions to help clients explore and resolve the root causes of their struggles.

101 Southwestern Blvd #105 Sugar Land, TX 77478

Brent utilizes individually tailored, evidence-based interventions to help clients explore and resolve the root causes of their struggles.

His belief in the power of therapy was born amid a life-changing experience during childhood. At 9 years old, Brent was battling a debilitating skin condition, what his dermatologist described as among the worst cases he had seen. Nothing was helping. That is, until Brent’s parents took him to a therapist, who recognized that his thoughts and emotions were at the core of his struggle. When Brent walked out of his first therapy session, as his mom would later recall, his face and neck had cleared up. After his second, his shoulders and arms had as well. At the end of just six sessions, from head to toe, Brent’s skin had healed.

This experience would inspire Brent to ultimately pursue a career in therapy. With a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Baptist University, he has served as a therapist for Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital’s outpatient program, providing individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents and adults with wide-ranging issues, from depression and anxiety to trauma, substance abuse, and suicidality. He also completed internships at West Oaks Hospital, working with inpatient populations of all ages, and the Children’s Assessment Center, where he offered counseling and support for families of victims of sexual abuse.

In addition to these professional experiences, Brent’s approach to treating trauma has been shaped by challenges in his personal life, notably the struggle he and his wife endured to expand their family. Over a four-year period, the couple suffered numerous fertility-related setbacks, including five lost pregnancies. But dealing with the grief, anguish, and despair that accompanied these losses ultimately informed Brent how to help others manage their surface-level symptoms while also healing their deep-seated pain.

Brent was born and raised in Houston and is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. When he’s not practicing therapy, he can be found hanging out with his wife and young child, cheering on the Longhorns, or on the golf course.

Brent enjoys working with preadolescents 11 and up, adolescents, and adults. He accepts Aetna and will be accepting United HealthCare, Blue Cross and Cigna very soon.
