Caitlin is a committed graduate student on her path to obtaining a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Marriage, Family, and Couples counseling at the University of Houston-Victoria. Joining the Attachment and Trauma Center of Houston marks a significant milestone in her journey towards becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and completed her Master of Science in Psychology from Tiffin University during the COVID pandemic. Originally hailing from Port Arthur, Texas, Caitlin spent two transformative years in Sydney, Australia before settling in Houston in 2016.

In therapy, Caitlin employs an integrative and systemic approach. This means delving into interactions between individuals and their environments, particularly partners and family members, to navigate present challenges. Integrative therapy, on the other hand, considers mental, physical, and emotional health as an interconnected system. She views therapy as a partnership, empowering individuals to find their voice and chart their path towards healing.

During sessions, Caitlin and her clients will likely explore their family backgrounds and current family dynamics. They will delve into differences and similarities among different generations of the family, working together to establish and achieve goals. She draws on neuroscientific research to tailor interventions to the unique needs of each client. At times, she may assign homework to ensure the work done in session is effectively applied outside of therapy. Recognizing that well-being is influenced by various factors, Caitlin aims to comprehensively understand all aspects of her client’s life to provide the most effective treatment.

With a wealth of experience in working with children and teens on the autism spectrum, Caitlin’s passion lies in supporting the entire neurodiversity community. Through play therapy, she witnesses boundless forms of self-expression that foster healing and growth aligned with their developmental needs. Her goal is to empower children and teens to discover meaningful ways of communication and equip them with tools to regulate their emotions.

While Caitlin is open to working with individuals of all demographics, she has a particular interest in supporting children, teens, and neurodiverse clients. Currently training in talk therapy, play therapy, and LENS Neurofeedback, she plans to expand her expertise in Brainspotting, EMDR, Theraplay, Trauma Therapy, and Attachment Therapy. Through authentic connection and creative expression, Caitlin aims to integrate art, music, books, and writing into therapy sessions.

She eagerly anticipates the opportunity to partner with individuals on their journey towards healing and growth!
