What is Making Sense of Your Worth?

Do you ever feel like there must be something wrong with you? Do you struggle in many different types of relationships in your life? Does your past seem to interfere in many areas of your present life? The step-by-step process of “Making Sense of Your Worth” will allow you to understand why your past can still impact your daily life. Our self-worth influences every relationship we have in our life. The program will provide an awareness of how you can become empowered and replace your past experiences with the positive self-worth that all humans deserve.

Self-Worth is the foundation of who we are as human beings and in today’s world is highly sought after. It plays a role in every decision we make and in every relationship we have. This eight-week program is designed for anybody who desires the freedom that comes with living in positive self-worth and secure attachment. The Making Sense of Your Worth Curriculum follows a step-by-step process of gaining positive self-worth. It was created by Cindy R. Lee, LCSW in partnership with HALO Project International and participants in the program show an increase in positive self-worth upon completion.

How can Groups help?

Giving and receiving help from others can allow you to heal in a unique way. It allows members of the group to recognize others also struggle with similar experiences and emotions. When someone feels heard and seen the brain releases dopamine the “feel good” chemical into the body. This is a place where you can learn to articulate your own feelings and needs. Groups can build your confidence and empower you to make positive changes in your life.

Currently our group is limited to adult females to provide a safe and supportive environment to explore relationships and their impact on our choices in life. Navigating relational trauma and the influence of our past on our daily life is explored in various modalities. Understanding the need for others to have power and control over your life is essential to making positive changes for a successful future.

FAQs

Self-esteem is related to someone’s performance at a skill or task. Self-worth is the recognition that all humans deserve to be seen, heard, and recognized. Humans are born seeking connections with other humans. The early care by primary caregivers can allow an infant to build trust and connection toward their caregivers, if the caregivers have a positive self-worth themselves. If the caregivers do not have a secure attachment or positive core beliefs, they are not able to provide to their children what they do not have themselves.

The group is currently scheduled for two hours a week for 8 weeks.

If it is necessary, a group member may be absent for one week of the group. We do require they make up that week with the group facilitator assistant. The information is on a continuum and will not be as effective if all weeks are not completed in order. If a member must be absent for two weeks, there will need to be a discussion regarding whether the current time is appropriate to continue in the group. This is due to the importance of group dynamics and cohesion for the most successful experience for all group members.
